The Autism Family Godmother was founded by myself, Leslie-Ann, an Autism Specialist and Family Support Consultant and a mother to two girls. I hold a BA degree in Early Childhood Studies and a Masters in Special and Inclusive Education from the Institute of Education (IOE), University College London (UCL). I am also a ADOS-trained practitioner and Ambassador for Twinkl SEND & Inclusion.
I currently work part-time for a small charity alongside my independent work. I am passionate about providing support services, that are not only accessible but also neurodivergent affirming, for individuals, families, organisations and schools. Owing to my expertise in early childhood development and autism, along with over 12 years experience of working within the neurodiverse, specifically autistic, community, in various roles, I, adopt an eclectic style incorporating numerous evidence-based interventions such as influence from Social Thinking framework. I utilise an individual-centric approach and in turn provides tailored support and strategies for the individuals, families and practitioners that I work, hand in hand, with.

I'm Leslie-Ann,
My interest for the thrills and complexities of neuroscience started way back which led me to my studies. Fast forward to working within many different roles within the private and public sector; collaborating with a network of professionals; and working with hundreds of children, young people and adults, along with their families, both inside and outside the home.

Supporting teams, around the individual, to ensure they feel well informed and confident about how neurotypes differ.

Helping teams to better understand behaviour responses, how they may differ and why - only once this is covered, appropriate strategies to support can be explored.

Guiding teams to work alongside the individual - ensuring their approach is suitable for the specific needs including their age and stage.
